Privacy policy

Bilzy keeps your bills on your phone. We, Workaholic Developers, never receive them. This page says exactly what that means.

What Bilzy collects

Nothing. Bilzy has no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising and no crash reporting service. The app has no internet connection of its own: on Android it does not even have internet permission. We cannot see your bills, amounts, account numbers, receipts or names, and nothing about how you use the app is sent to us.

Where your data is kept

• Bills, payments, warranties, family names and receipt photos are kept in Bilzy's own storage on your phone. On iPhone they are protected by the phone's data protection.
• Home-screen widgets and Siri read a small summary of your next bills from storage shared only with Bilzy's own widgets.
• If your phone makes its normal backups (iCloud or Android backup), Bilzy's data can be part of them, under your account with Apple or Google. On Android, receipt photos are left out of those backups.
• A backup file, a CSV or a PDF is made only when you tap it, and saved or shared where you choose.
• Deleting a bill or warranty removes it, with its reminders and photos. Deleting the app removes everything.

Things Bilzy does only when you ask

• Reminders: notifications are scheduled on the phone. You can hide amounts in notifications in Settings.
• Paste or share a message: the text is read on the phone to find the biller, amount and date. It is kept under "Messages to check" until you add or dismiss it.
• Scan a receipt: the camera opens only when you tap Scan. The photo is saved inside Bilzy and its text is read on the phone by the phone's own text recognition (on Android, a recognition model inside the app). Choosing a photo uses the system picker, so Bilzy only sees the photos you pick.
• Pay: the pay button opens your payment app, a link or the phone dialer that you saved for that bill. Bilzy never sees the payment.
• Siri and Shortcuts: what you say is handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy; Bilzy only receives the action, such as "mark Electricity paid".
• Links to our website, other apps and the email button open in your browser or mail app, only when you tap them.

This website

bilzy.wdlab.app has no cookies, no analytics, no trackers and no fonts or scripts from other companies. Our server keeps no access logs. Error logs, which can include an address, are kept for up to 14 days to fix problems.

Children

Bilzy does not collect personal data from anyone, including children.

Your rights

Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to show, correct or delete. You control everything in the app and can delete any bill, warranty or photo at any time.
